One thing I’ve always tried is to not repeat myself. After Iqbal and Dor, it felt like the time was right to enter a different space, the romantic comedy (rom-com) – a genre I hadn’t tapped into since Bollywood Calling. And in that film I had focused more on the humor in that film and less on the romance.

Now, honestly I’ve been terrified of doing a “love story” because it has been done to death, sometimes effectively, but more often poorly. So after much deliberation and an extended visit to Thailand (a country I love very much) I wrote this light hearted, cross cultural, whacky rom-com. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect – after the intensity of a Dor, Bombay to Bangkok was just what the doctor ordered. I plunged into this film with maniacal enthusiasm to capture the fun of romance with two people not being able to communicate and the joy of learning a new culture and its people.

I hope you will have as much fun watching B2B it as I did making it. And like I’ve been saying – this film is Same Same BUT Different!

Regards
